Louise HACKETT Obituary
HACKETT, Louise Louise Hackett, 90, of Columbus, Georgia died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Hackett was born January 17, 1927 in Macon, Georgia to the late William Royce Nolan and Helen McKinley Nolan. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1943. In 1950 Louise married the love of her life Paul Hackett and raised a family as a military spouse to an officer who fought in three overseas conflicts. She traveled the United States and the world, living adventures in South America where two of her sons were born. Louise enjoyed the Atlanta Braves, email and surfing the internet to keep up with her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and current events. She loved going to the beach, planning day trips and summer vacations in scrupulous detail. She was a voracious reader of books of all sorts and passed along a love of reading to her family. She was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and loved people, spreading the love of Christ as a church volunteer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband LTC (ret) Paul Thomas Hackett, Sr., and her sister Faye Aileen Miles. Survivors include four sons: Paul (Tom) Hackett, Jr., Mark Hackett, Royce Hackett and Robert Hackett, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Rosary will be said Monday, October 9, 2017 at 6:00 pm, with visitation to follow until 8:00 pm, in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA. Services will be Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 12:00 pm, in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at
