Lucille Hughes CHAMBERS Obituary
CHAMBERS, Lucille Hughes McDonough, GA Lucille Hughes Chambers, 91, died unexpectedly on December 30, 2017, after a long illness. She was born September 21, 1926, in Greensboro, North Carolina, and was the daughter of the late Fannie Mae and James Clarence Hughes. Lucille married James Charles Chambers July 16, 1944, and celebrated 47 years of marriage. They had two sons, James Michael and Jeffrey Dale. She retired as an Executive Secretary from National Data Corporation and enjoyed painting, ceramics, scrapbooking and creating an ancestry history for family members. Lucille shared a special bond with her beloved sister, Evelyn Jordan of Seneca, South Carolina. On the same day of Lucille's death, her sister Evelyn passed away two hours later. In life, they were inseparable and in death they walked hand in hand to heaven to be with their deceased parents and husbands. In addition to her sons, Lucille is survived by four grandchildren: Jennifer Paige Chambers Rutsche, Christopher Michael Chambers, Dr. Stephen James Chambers and Spencer Charles Chambers; and two great-grand- children: Malone Price Chambers and Britton Christopher Chambers. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Seneca Baptist Church. Internment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca, South Carolina. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM, Tuesday, prior to the service, at Seneca Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Seneca Baptist Church, 1080 South Oak Street, Seneca, SC 29678 or to the .
