Lucy BOZE Obituary
BOZE, Lucy Gartrell An Atlanta Native, born in 1925, passed away on September 5, 2017. The only daughter of William Scott Gartrell and Lucy Ryder Gartrell, she attended E. Rivers Elementary School, North Fulton High School and attended Oglethorpe University, studying art. While at Oglethorpe, she joined the Chi Omega Fraternity and was an active member until her passing. Her work life included the Bell Bomber Plant during World War II where she served on the clerical staff. She entered the banking world at the First National Bank of Atlanta, and ended up at SunTrust Bank (formerly The Trust Company of Georgia), where she retired after 44 years. She enjoyed working at SunTrust so much, she returned twice for employment assignments after her retirement. She was a member of the Peachtree Presbyterian Church since the early 1950s and an active member of the Gene Wilson Sunday School Class for most of the years. She was also an active Member of the church choir for 17 years. Hobbies included travel, water color painting and needle pointing. She is survived by two sons, Scott and Jere, daughter-in-law Sachiko, three grandsons (Scott, Jere and Joseph), one granddaughter (Ashley) and three great-grandchildren (Amara, Liam and Alex). The family requests that contributions be made to the Peachtree Presbyterian Music Department or the Gene/Martha Wilson Sunday School Class, in lieu of flowers. A memorial service will be held at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta, on September 30, 2017 at 3PM in the Sanctuary.
