Martha Finney Obituary
FINNEY, Martha "Marty" Ann, passed away on Friday, June 29th at Sunrise of Buckhead in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Five Points High School in 1947 where she was the co-valedictorian of her class. She was also president of the Beta Club and excelled in soft ball. In 1949, she graduated from Auburn University with a degree in secretarial science. Marty lived for several years in Columbus, GA, where she worked for Pound Construction Company. She then moved to Atlanta in 1965, where she began a 35-year career with Hardin Construction Company, a job which she loved. She was an avid Auburn Tiger fan, rarely missing a televised game. Mostly, she was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt. Marty leaves two siblings, John Phillip Finney and Decie Finney Nygaard, as well as nieces, a nephew, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, and many friends at Sunrise to treasure her memories. A private, family graveside service will be held in LaFayette, Alabama, where she will be buried next to her parents.
