Nancy C. IRELAND Obituary
IRELAND, Nancy C. Atlanta, GA Nancy C. Ireland died on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, after suffering a stroke. Nancy was born on July 23, 1939 in Amarillo, TX to the late Wallace and Sarah Leachman. She received a degree in Medical Records Technology from University of The Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Her career included teaching Medical Records, Disease, and Anatomy at Amarillo College, leading the Collateral Department for BankOne in Houston, and serving as Receptionist for Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Nancy found life-giving joy in her family; widening her circle of friends; carrying out acts of grace, kindness, and generosity; cooking and baking; music; reading; NPR; and her dog, Hannah. She is survived by her son, Brent Ivey, of Atlanta and his husband, David VanderMeer; her brother, Reid Leachman, and his wife, Barbara, of Albuquerque, NM; four nephews: Michael Leachman of Spokane, WA, Andrew Leachman of Coal City, IL, David Leachman of Las Cruces, NM, Joseph Leachman of Keller, TX; and several cousins including Jan Ethridge of Albuquerque, NM, Darrel Leachman of Amarillo, TX, Sue Roushar of Montrose, CO, and Mozelle Foran of Amarillo, TX. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church: 201 Washington St. SW, Atlanta, GA, 30303. Memorial gifts may be made to the Ministry of Music at Central Presbyterian Church.
