Family-Placed Death Notice

EAVES, Pete PETE EAVES On March 3rd, 1919, I was born in a section of Atlanta called West End. I went to Peoples Street School from kindergarten through fourth grade. My family moved to Morningside when I was ten years old. I went the fifth and sixth grades to a school on Virginia Avenue. The next four years of school I attended Boys High School. After high school, I got a job at a fertilizer broker firm. I attended Georgia State night school, while I worked days. In 1940, I went to work for Southern Bell Telephone Company. I was drafted in the Army for one year in 1941 but spent four and half years because of war. I was released from the Army in 1946 and returned to school. There I met my first wife and we married. After four years we had a daughter failing to have additional children we adopted a baby girl at three months, when our daughter was ten years old. At seventeen years old our daughter was killed in the car she was driving to school. It was very sad time for us. After release from the Army, I remained in the Army Reserves. My unit was called to duty in 1951, 1961, and 1976. I was retired from service as a colonel after thirty-three years of service. Within a month of forty-eight years together my wife died of Hodgekins Lymphoma. That same year in October, the spouse of my first love died we got back together and married in February in 1995. We have celebrated sixteen years of marriage. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Georgia 404- 355-7627
