Robert "Bob" EMMERT Obituary
EMMERT, Robert "Bob" Robert (Bob) Emmert passed away unexpectedly on November 1st 2017 at the age of 86 . Bob was born in Russellville, Arkansas on August 17th 1931 , the only child of Walter Irvin Emmert & Minnie Leola Jones Emmert. Bob married Ruth Worshan on August 24th 1952 and their life was a true "love story" having met at young age and were college sweethearts. Bob is a retired Aerospace Engineer who graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1953 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After graduation Bob attended the Oak Ridge School of Reactor Technology (ORSORT) to study Nuclear Engineering. His career began with General Electric Company Cincinnati Ohio where he developed reactor control systems for experimental reactors. Bob began his Aerospace career with North American Aviation Columbus Ohio in 1961, attended Ohio State University and received an MS in Electrical Engineering in 1964. He then became the Manager for the Missile Division of Rockwell International with technical expertise in Tactical Missile Guidance and Control which he and another Engineer hold a patent. The Missile division of Rockwell International relocated to Atlanta in 1983 and then became a part of Boeing Aerospace. After retirement from Boeing in January 2000 he developed a new way of using his technical expertise by working Sudoku puzzles. Bob with another friend authored the book "Solve Extreme Sudoku "which was published November 2015. Bob is survived by his loving wife Ruth and his two sons Gregory S Emmert and Dr. Richard W Emmert of Fort Lauderdale Florida and his only grandchild Brandon H Emmert also of Fort Lauderdale Florida. In addition, he leaves a number of nieces, nephews and many friends who loved and admired him deeply. Bob was an active member of Roswell United Methodist Church for 34 years where he served the church faithfully in multiple capacities. He especially enjoyed his time with the friendship Sunday School Class and ushering on Sunday's. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, located at 12050 Crabapple Rd. Roswell, GA 30075, between the hours of 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Roswell United Methodist Church, located at 814 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell, GA 30075, on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00am. In lieu of Flowers; Memorials may be given to Roswell United Methodist Church Columbarium Garden of Love or Foundation.
