KIKER, Rodney Rodney "Rod" Alan Kiker, 46, of Douglasville died Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Funeral service will be held 2 pm, Sunday, Lie-in-State from 1 to 2 pm, at West Metro Church of Christ in Hiram with Minister Ricky Gray officiating. Rod Kiker, faithful and loving husband of Lisa Kiker; loving father, best friend and hero to his son Landon Chase Kiker, and wife Ranae, and daughter Courtney Elizabeth Kiker; and Grandfather of Lileigh Evangeline Kiker. Born November 27, 1966, in Flint Michigan to Wayne and Sue Kiker, Rod grew up in Jasper Alabama, graduated from Walker High School in 1985 and went on to pursue his dream of being a police officer and served 23+ years with the Cobb County, Georgia Police Department. He understood honor and duty, serving his fellow man and truly loved being a police officer and loved being in the motors division. Rod was a member of the American Legion, Post 111 in Dallas GA and an American Legion Rider. In fact he loved riding his motorcycle, with his wife, Lisa by his side, anytime and anywhere he had a chance, including every charity event possible. Rod enjoyed martial arts, earning a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was practicing Jujitsu. Mr. Kiker is also survived by his parents, Wayne & Sue Kiker of Jasper, AL; one sister, Lisa Melvin & husband, Robert, of Las Vegas, NV; and one brother, Greg Kiker & wife, Tina, of Jasper. Family will receive friends 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory Macland Chapel in Powder Springs.
