1929 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
WACH, Roger Roger Wach, born September 14, 1929 passed away September 19, 2017 after a long fought battle with Multiple System Atrophy-Cerebellar Ataxia. He was the youngest son of the late Mary Greta Wach and Michael Wach. Roger graduated from Shore High School in Euclid, Ohio in 1947 and then went on to obtain degrees from Harvard College in 1951 and Harvard Business School in 1953. Upon graduation in 1953, Roger joined the United States Army as a Lieutenant in the Finance Corps and spent three years serving his country. He was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany for a part of his tour. Upon discharge from the military, Roger spent the next 29 years with the Harris Corporation in financial management in the United States and abroad. Roger was originally from Cleveland, Ohio but his business career took him to various states. A joint venture opportunity with Harris Corporation and 3M brought him to Atlanta, Georgia where he resided for the last 32 years. Roger served his community by volunteering for tax aide service through the AARP Organization, as President of the Huntcliff Homeowners Association, as Treasure of Georgia Ensemble, and as an executive counsellor for Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE). In addition, he served as the Commodore of Rush Creek Yacht Club during the Lighting Worlds in Dallas, Texas. Throughout his life Roger found enjoyment through many different avenues: family sailing, golfing, reading, hiking, classical music and he loved a good discussion of politics and global topics. Roger is survived by his wife, Judy, three children, Katharine Lewicki (Bob), Jennifer Hickey (Jerry), Martha Wach (Jonathan Dunfee), one step-daughter, Angela Sanchez (Manuel) and one step-son, Brian Tadlock (Jennifer), five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren and former daughter-in-law, Sharron Yendle Tadlock. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Reynolds Wach, grandson Benjamin David Lewicki, mother Mary Greta Wach, father Michael Wach and brother Robert Eric Wach. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Sandy Springs Chapel 136 Mount Vernon Hwy., Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328 at 1:00 PM. A reception will be held immediately following the service for family and friends.
