HABACHY, Samir A Mass of Coptic Christian burial for Samir Helmy Habachy, 77, will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church, 11450 Houze Road in Roswell, GA. Entombment and Farewell Prayers will be at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery. Mr. Habachy died Monday, August 28, 2017. He was born in Mansoura, Egypt. He was the son of the late Helmy and Samira Habachy. He attended Cairo University in Egypt and obtained a degree in Cartography and then immigrated to the United States in 1969 and completed a masters in City Planning at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. He worked at Texaco for 27 years and retired from his position of Chief Executive of Pricing in 1996. He was passionate about Texaco and was dedicated to his profession. He maintained relationships with all of his dear friends at Texaco throughout his life. He also had many hobbies including woodworking, motorcycles, gardening, working on cars and fixing things, model ship building, french music, film, and debate. But nothing mattered more to him than his family and his relationship with God. He met and married the love of his life, Dr. Jeannette Shenouda Habachy (pictured above) in 1970 while she was in residency at Emory University. They were married 40 years until the time of her passing in 2010. Mr. Habachy was a beloved father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are his sons, Michael S. (Jane) Habachy of Atlanta, GA, Joseph S. (Leslie) Habachy of Decatur, GA, his three grandsons Alexander, Emile and Theodore Habachy, his brother Saad and sister Cecile and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Dr. Jeanette Shenouda Habachy. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church at 11450 Houze Road, Roswell, GA, 30076.
