FOWLER, Sara, "Sallye" Sara Haigler Fowler, 87, passed away September 22, 2017. Sallye was born January 18, 1930 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia; the only child of Charles Adolphus Haigler and Fern Connor Haigler. She attended Decatur Girls High, where she graduated in 1948. That same year, she married Carl C. Fowler, Jr., with whom she shared her life for 65 years. Sallye was a member of the Atlanta Junior Woman's Club and a founding member of Sandy Springs Christian Church. She was a wonderful wife and mother, always kind, caring, and lovingly supportive of her two boys. Sallye was a multi-faceted individual, spending her early years working as a photographer's assistant, and later as a floral arranger, an interior decorator for Ethan Allen furniture, and a graphic screen print artist. Sallye was very creative and had a thirst for adventure. She loved sports cars and learned how to ride a motorcycle at age 46. In later years, she enjoyed playing bridge, going to yard sales, attending bible study, playing with her cats Dusty and Dolly, and visiting with her kind and supportive neighbors. Sallye was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Fowler, Jr. She is survived by her two sons: Carl III (Cathy) and David (Lori) and grandchildren Christopher and Emeili. A memorial reception will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Chartwell Clubhouse, 9885 Rod Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30022.
