Sara HURWITCH Obituary
HURWITCH, Sara It is with great sadness that the family of Sara Hurwitch announces the unexpected and peaceful passing of our beloved daughter, niece, cousin and friend, on August 19th, 2017. She will be forever remembered by her mother, Jan Hurwitch, step-parents, Bob Brown and Ruth Washton-Brown, her aunts, Paula Toomey, Carol Hurwitch and Sally Hurwitch, her cousins and her many friends. Sara did her undergraduate work at the University of Virginia and received her MBA from the University of North Carolina. She was an enormous professional force in the field of Change Management Consulting, an avid traveler and a champion of animal rescue. She personally fostered 19 dogs, eventually matching each of them with perfect, forever homes. She loved sailing, running and hiking. Her global explorations took her to Croatia, Greece, Japan, Bolivia, Thailand, Indonesia, Gal?pagos Islands, Mexico, Canada, all over the United States including several national parks, and we have the photo albums to prove it! When her garden was in bloom, her love for the color purple could not be missed. Sara's special talent was making each person she met feel like they were her best friend. She lived life large. As per her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, a private party celebrating her 50th birthday will be held in October. A special donation fund is being set up to benefit "You Lucky Dog Rescue", in order to continue the work closest to her heart. In lieu of flowers, please donate generously to:
