Susan "Susie" (Bealer) Duncan Obituary
Susan (Susie) Bealer Duncan passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Susie was born on January 15, 1951, to Alex W. Bealer III and Helen Eitel Bealer of Atlanta, GA. She earned a BFA Degree from the University of Georgia and a MFA Degree from Georgia State University.

Susie had a long and successful career as an art teacher and working artist. She taught art at Roswell High School early in her career and, more recently, at the Ben Franklin Academy, where she taught an array of three-dimensional art and photography classes. She also taught ceramics and jewelry classes for over 30 years at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. Susie was greatly respected for her dedication to art, teaching and family. She impacted the lives of many people with her positive attitude, energy, and infectious smile.

Susie is survived by her mother, Helen Eitel Bealer; her husband of 40 years, Charles Gilbert Duncan III; two children and their spouses, Alexander Duncan and Elizabeth Adams, and Dr. Rebecca Duncan and Dr. Michael Muench; four grandchildren, Owen Duncan, Helen Duncan, James Duncan and Arlo Muench; and four siblings.

A memorial service will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Inman Park United Methodist Church, 1015 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30307. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make contributions to Ben Franklin Academy in Atlanta, GA.
