Van ROBERTSON Obituary
ROBERTSON, Chief Van "Gator" Chief Van "Gator" Robertson, 72, of Dahlonega, GA passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. He was born on July 13, 1945, in Oliver Springs, TN, the son of Franklin and Jennie Lou Mackey Robertson who have both predeceased him. Chief Robertson is also predeceased by his brothers, Jerry Robertson and Mackey Robertson as well as his sister, Agnes Kneeland and grandson MacKean Robertson. He is survived by his loving wife Ronda Robertson of Dahlonega and his daughters, Sonja (Edward) Hopkin of Cibolo, TX, Lesley Robertson of San Antonio, TX and Nicole Bahret (Brad Buice) of Cumming, GA. Additionally, he is survived by his sons, Franklin Clay (Baylee) Robertson of Marietta, GA and Kelly (Angie) Grassmuck of Lake St. Louis, MO. Chief Robertson is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Ryan of Gainesville, FL and Alice (Paul) Rockliffe of Jacksonville, FL and brothers Claude Robertson of Center, AL and James (Norma) Robertson of Churchville, VA, as well as 10 grandchildren. Chief Robertson was a retired Battalion Chief for the Dekalb Fire Department and was a firefighter, paramedic, hazmat team member and rescue diver for Dekalb County with 31 years of service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from, 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11am at the First Baptist Church of Cumming, GA. Retired Dekalb County firefighters will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
