Virginia Elizabeth (Krenson) DUESENBERG Obituary
DUESENBERG (Krenson), Virginia Elizabeth "Ginger" Virginia Elizabeth Duesenberg, 93, wife of the late Wesley C. Duesenberg, Sr. of Sandy Springs, Georgia passed away at home on October 12, 2017. Ginger, as she was known by her friends, was born Augusta 9, 1924 in Savannah, Georgia and was the daughter of the late William George and Effie Toomer Krenson. Her life was blessed from the beginning as she was one of six siblings and grew up in Savannah and then as a teenager moved to Miami, Fl., where she worked during WWII. Her sister, Elodia, and she worked many jobs that served the military and it was at that time that both sisters met their husbands to be and had a double wedding in August of 1944. After the war, Ginger and Wes moved to Chicago to work in the Insurance business and after many years of freezing weather moved back to the South to Atlanta in 1951. Ginger's greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family. She was a devoted wife of 60 years to her husband, Wes, and a loving and kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always had time to listen and be there for her children. Ginger was a member of Sandy Springs United Methodist for 66 years and participated as a teacher, circle member and other positions through the years, including being a founding member of the DBS Sunday School class. She was a special friend to many and possessed a wisdom that she passed on to others, which often impacted the younger generation. Her favorite past time was playing bridge with her different groups of friends. She is survived by her son Wesley C. Duesenberg, Jr and his wife Joanne of Johns Creek and by Wesley III (Tripp), Katie, and great grandchildren Wesley IV and Wyatt, by Leslie and Tom Wyatt and great grandchildren Grice and Leighton; and by her daughter, Donna Glenn of Sandy Springs, Ga and Brittany and John Molinaro, and great grandson, Charlie; and by Lindsey and James Pruett, and great grandchildren Glenn Elizabeth, Ren, Parker and Coleman. The Duesenberg family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to her care givers: Shannon Meyers, Lynn Young, Betty Peterson and Melanie Dubberly for taking such excellent and loving care of their mom and grandmother. Visitation will be held at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mount Vernon Hwy. NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm. Services will be held at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church, 86 Mount Vernon Hwy. NW, Atlanta, GA 30328 on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00am. There will be a reception immediately following the service. A private interment will follow the reception.
