1940 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
PERRIN, II, Walter Walter Catesby Perrin II died on Sunday, November 26, 2017. He was born on April 6, 1940, to Lois Hines and David Baldwin Perrin in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from The Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in 1962 with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and remained active throughout his life. After college, he served honorably in the United States Army, stationed in Death Valley, CA. In 1974, he joined HBOC, eventually acquired by McKesson, where Walter spent his career serving in multiple roles including Vice President of West Coast Sales until his retirement. During his life he served on many civic, community and collegiate boards of directors. Walter's greatest passion was his involvement with VMI, where he served as President of the VMI Foundation and on the campaign cabinet for VMI's recent capital campaign. He was devoted to St. Luke's Episcopal Church where he was a warden, served on the vestry and numerous committees. Walter also served on the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital Board of Directors, numerous committees at the Cherokee Town and Country Club, and the board of the Peachtree Heights West Civic Association. Above all of things, however, Walter's family brought him the most joy, especially time spent together in Pawleys Island, SC. He was predeceased by his wife Martha Clewis Perrin. He is survived by his much-loved wife and best friend, Mary Hall Perrin; his daughter Katherine Timberlake Perrin of Eliot, ME; his son Walter Catesby Perrin III and wife Jenny Rebecca Tolan of Brooklyn, NY; his son David Clewis Perrin and fianc?e Christine Elizabeth Doss of Atlanta; his stepson Austin Millar Hall and wife Michelle Thompson Hall with their son Harris Millar Hall of Atlanta; his stepdaughter Mary Stuart Hall, of Atlanta; his brother and sister-in-law, William Kennon Perrin and Susan Morck Perrin of Ware Neck, VA, as well as by many kind and generous family members and devoted friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 1, 2017, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 435 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Virginia Military Institute and St. Luke's Episcopal Church are encouraged. The family will receive friends following the service in the Parish Hall.
