Sr. Ward Pickens "Bud" Horton, Sr. passed away November 18, 2017. He was born March 2, 1936 in Rome Georgia to Ward Beecher Horton and Ruth Selman Horton. He was the youngest of seven children. He graduated from Rome High School and married Patricia Faye Skelton. He joined the Navy and they moved to California for four years. After being honorably discharged, he moved his family back to his beloved Georgia. He soon found work with Wilson Sporting Goods and found his calling. His favorite quote was "The best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". And he truly did! They were married 63 years. He also loved fellowship with his many friends and the years he spent with the Atlanta Braves. There was no other baseball team that existed. Win or lose, they were his team.
