1924 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
RICHARDSON, William William Buford Richardson, age 93 passed away peacefully on November 6 2017 with his family at his side. Bill, Little Buford, was born August 5, 1924 in Ivey, Georgia. Bill was the only child of William Buford and Annie Lizzie Richardson. He was graduated from Gordon High School at age 16. He attended North Georgia College and then Washington and Lee University. He left college to serve his country in WWII. He was in the 95th division of the army. After the war Bill finished his college career at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Bill received a BS degree in Industrial Management. He was a brother of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He started his professional career at the First National Bank where he met the love of his life, Dorothy Greer. Later he went to work for the U S Treasury Department as a bank examiner and stayed with the department until he retired. He was a member and active volunteer of Peachtree Baptist. Church. Bill loved to travel and drive especially to his condo on Vilano Beach. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his only child, Anne Hodges, and his son-in law, Marion Hodges, and the joys of his life, his grandchildren, Sara and WIll Hodges. His generous, giving spirit and joyful personality will be missed by all the lives he touched. Funeral will be Friday, November 10 at 2 pm at Peachtree Baptist Church, 2108 Briarcliff Road, interment at Arlington Cemetery after the service. Family will receive friends at 1:00 pm Friday in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peachtree Baptist Church or the Georgia Institute of Technology.
