SPARKS, William Lee "Bill" Atlanta, GA Mr. William "Bill" Lee Sparks, age 90 of Atlanta passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his residence after enduring a long illness. Mr. Sparks was born in Franklin County, Bold Springs, Georgia, to the late James Carlisle and Eunice Clementine Prickett Sparks. Bill was an active member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church up until his illness. He retired after 32 years with Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors Corporation where he was an executive with increasing geographic responsibility across sales and customer service. During his employment he represented the company not only in Atlanta, but also Jacksonville, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Bill was the beloved husband of Betty Lou Huffman Sparks for 61 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather with unconditional love for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Chris Wolcott, daughter Sandy, son Steve and daughter-in-law Julia, and grandchildren James and Emily. He is also survived by his brother David and sister-in-law Carol, brother Donald and sister-in-law Frances, brother-in-law Edward Sewell, sister-in-law Carolyn Sparks Leachman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James and Robert, and sisters Kathleen McGinnis and brother-in-law Harold McGinnis, Sylvia Sewell, and Doris Nabers and brother-in-law Harold Nabers. Very early in his life, Bill faithfully and proudly served our country as part of the United States Army's 101st Airborne Division. Bill attended Young Harris College and Georgia State University. His Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Roswell Presbyterian Church, 755 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell, GA 30075, 2:00 PM in the main sanctuary. Visitation and reception to follow in the narthex. Interment will be held on a future date at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to the .
