Caroline Hartrampf Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 3 to Nov. 4, 2008.

Family-Placed Death Notice

HARTRAMPF, Caroline CAROLINE ELIZABETH HARTRAMPF July 18, 1989 - October 31, 2008 Caroline Elizabeth Hartrampf, 19, of Sandy Springs, joined her Lord Jesus Christ in heaven on October 31, 2008, during an automobile accident. She was born July 18, 1989, in Atlanta, the beloved firstborn of Jack and Sharon Hartrampf. Caroline was a student at The University of Alabama, where she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She also attended Church of the Highlands on campus. At church, she served on the Leadership Team as leader of a Bible study for freshman girls. During the summer, she enjoyed a rigorous, but rewarding, two months as a counselor for young campers at Camp Ozark, Arkansas. Caroline is survived by a loving family, most of whom lived on her same street in Sandy Springs surrounding their small Lake Hartrampf, where they all gathered for cook-outs and lake activities. She was big sister to Leigh Anne, 17; Claire, 12; and John III, 6. She is survived by her grandparents, Si and Carole Wages, and John and Karen Hartrampf; uncle and aunt Mike and Lorelei Fischer; and cousins, Kate, 20; David, 18; and John, 14. She looked forward to visits from her uncle, Donald Wages, who lives in Munich, Germany. Fond great-aunts and uncles, and their families live in several states. Caroline cited family as "the most important thing in my life." Numbers of close friends confirm that Caroline's spiritual gift was one of encouragement. With them, she enjoyed travel, wakeboarding, swapping photos, coffee shops, camping, tennis, Spanish lessons, cooking, and just getting outdoors. For family and friends, her life will always be a witness of God's love to us. No doubt, Caroline was surprised and delighted to be in the presence of the Lord Jesus so unexpectedly. Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 16:11, "You will show me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of Joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Services will be at Fellowship Bible Church, 480 W. Crossville Road, Roswell, GA 30075 at 10:30 a.m.on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, gifts made be sent online to Camp Ozark Foundation, Inc. www.campozark.com/foundation, click on the 'Donate Now' button in memory of Caroline Hartrampf. Or mail to: Camp Ozark Foundation, Inc., 155 Camp Ozark Drive, Mount Ida, AR 71957. Another option for memorial gifts is: Calvary Baptist Church, "Mission Trip Assistance Fund", 1121 Paul Bryant Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel Funeral Directors, 136 Mt. Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, 30328.

Sharon,
You may not remember me, but I used to babysit for you and Donald many years ago. Last week I was at Canterbury Court for a vespers service and saw a flyer that your dad would be there. In curiousity I googled him and then found the shocking news of your daughter's death. Although I have not seen you in years, and never knew Caroline, this news saddens me. I remember reading about it at the time, but did not make the connectiont to you. There are no easy days following such a tragedy, but the time around anniversaries, particularly the first one, is especially difficult. I did not know to pray for you at the time of Caroline's death, but I will be praying for you in the days and weeks ahead.
Faithfully,
Patricia Templeton

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hartrampf:

My heart goes out to you due to the loss of your dear daughter. Yet how full your hearts must feel to have such a young lady discribed as having "a passion for God." I pray Our Father consoles you all with the knowledge that you can be with her again. Meanwhile please accept this little poem on Caroline's behalf:

There’s comfort for dear parents
To softly make their hearts shine.
It’s not “God needed another angel”,
Nor was it Caroline’s “time.”

Real comfort comes in knowing
He’ll undo the sadness death has brought
Thru resurrection within his Kingdom
A joyous victory life has wrought!

See her living up to the potential
You always knew she had
In a perfect world and body
Safe from everything that’s bad.

Caroline’s heart went out to others,
Now God will satisfy his own desire,
To reunite this precious girl with loved ones.
To praise him fully she’ll be inspired.

Hi Sharon and family

I too cannot express my sympathy for your temporary loss of Caroline. She was a beautiful girl on the outside but even more so in her heart. I know you will be reunited one day, but for now she will be missed. I have a family member who once lost her daughter and she told me God loved her so much that He just wanted to be with her. I pray our Lord comforts you in these times.

Jack, Sharon, and family: we were so saddened to hear of the loss of your daughter, Caroline. Her testimony and the beautiful article in the AJC commended her for having "a passion for God." You could not have asked for more--a child who had a real heart for God. Perhaps we will never know God's plan, but we do know that he never leaves us or forsakes us, nor does He ask us to carry the sorrow alone. Take comfort in Him and "Trust His Heart!"

Jack and Sharon--I am so sorry for the loss of your precious daughter. Although we haven't been in contact for many years, from what I have read about Caroline, I can see that she was an angel on Earth who demonstrated with her life what being a true Christian is all about. I know she will be missed by so many, and those who never had the chance to meet her have missed out on a true blessing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family during this time.

Dear Jack and Family, In 1989 you sold our property in Tucker, GA. We remember your little girl, she was just a baby and we remember how very proud you were of this little girl.
We read with sadness of the homegoing of Caroline, what a wonderful legacy she left for one so young - God needed an angel and chose Caroline. We pray that God will wrap HIS loving arms around you and your family and give you peace. In Christian love, Cliff and Marie Hughes Rutledge, GA.

Jack and Sharon - We are so saddened by the loss of your daughter, Caroline. Although we never had the pleasure of meeting her, we felt we knew her because of our mutual connection to the University of Alabama. That she "had a passion for God" gives you comfort in the days ahead.

I do not know the Hartrampf family, however, it always attracts my attention when a young person is taken from us. I know it must bring you great joy in your time of grief to know that your daughter had a relationship with God prior to her passing. Based on what I have read, not only did she have a passion for God but she also had a passion for introducing others to him. Your daughter sounds like she was an angel on a mission and your family was blessed to be able to care for this angel until her mission was accomplished. I thank God for blessing the world for 19 years with an angel name Caroline Hartrampf....I know you are so grateful and thankful...to God be the glory!

Our hearts break for your family over the loss of your beautiful daughter even though we did not know her. Our son's obituary was chosen as a feature for the AJC in June of this year and now I notice them in a different way. It really saddens my heart to see another young person as a feature especially one that has done so many wonderful things in their short time on earth. It is a very difficult journey to move forward without our children but knowing they are with God helps soften it some. We will continue to lift your family up in our prayers. At some point you may want to find a Compassionate Friends group to visit.
