Dear Reeves Family,
I was so saddened to hear of Leigh's passing. I worked for Leigh and her colleague Julie as their legal assistant while living in Atlanta. Her strength, quick wit, mentoring and friendship made a strong impact on me. She is truly missed.

Dear Family of Leigh Lawson:
I went to law school with Leigh, and just read of her passing on today, Oct. 5, 2009. She was a very kind person, always in a good mood, and everyone in the class of 1991 enjoyed our classes together with her at Mercer Law School. Leigh was a better student than most of us, but she was always ready to help explain something or to share information on lessons, etc. I was very sorry to hear of her passing and know that you will miss her greatly. Reeves Family,
Caroline and my daughter danced together at Prima Ballet, so Leigh, her mother and I usually talked while the girls danced. I was so shocked to hear about her passing and I just hope that Caroline and her brothers can make it through this. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Lynne, Ms. Lawson, and Reeves family.
I was deeply saddened to hear about Leigh's passing. I was good friends with Lynne in high school and remember Leigh well. Please know that during these difficult times, you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Also remember, Leigh is in a better place where she can smile down on her family and be in their hearts forever.

Ms.Lawson, Lynne, Hal & Children,
I was so heartbroken upon hearing the news about Leigh. She graduated from Wade Hampton with my sister, Rosemary. Lynne introduced my wife and I 24 years ago. The Lawson family has/will always have a special place in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers to all involved.

Ms. Lawson, Lynne, Hal & Children,
I am so brokenhearted to hear about Leigh. Our friendship goes back to High School, and I am so glad that we were able to keep in touch over the years. It had been many years since we had actually seen each other, but we still talked about continuing to think of each other as "Best Friends". Her childhood home was a second home to me, and Ms. Lawson, you were like a second Mom. Thank you for such wonderful memories. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with all of you.
Love,
Beth (Barnhill) Robinson

Hal and Leigh's precious children,
How saddened I was to learn of Leigh's passing today. She was a consummate professional that I could always rely on when I needed input on GA law. We laughed much, and oh how I wish I could have laughed once more with her. Know this our Father in Heaven is so very grateful for her laughter, wisdom and the oh so many lives she touched while here with us. I will truly miss her and will be praying that the tears you all share over the next days, weeks, months and years that you may hear her laughter and feel her spirit and know God is probably cracking up with her and truly enjoying her company. I know I did and one day when I get to Heaven I know I have a true friend waiting there to share a laugh or two. Take care and may God be with you all during this most difficult time.

Leigh was a great student and leader for all of us who were in law school with her.
I remember her as vey funny and witty with a positive outlook. We last saw her in Macon, and I thought everything was fine with her, so this comes as a complete shock. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and colleagues

Hal, Lawson, Avery, Caroline and Mom...Leigh's smiling face will be missed...from the time we all moved onto the street, had numerous parties together, were pregnant together, shared daycare connections, kids running around on the street, to baseball. Even when you guys moved you have still been a part of our lives in one way or another. Leigh will be missed but will always be in our hearts! Our thoughts are with you at this time and just know you are all loved and we are here for you! The Shiffman Clan on Kenley

Hal, Lawson, Avery, and Caroline,
We are deeply saddened to hear about your loss. Leigh was an absolutely amazing woman. She was not only an accomplished lawyer, but a caring, involved mother. She did both so well and it was an honor to know her. Being in her presence as a friend and a neighbor was always a joy. She had a rare ability to care, listen and connect even if for a few moments at a time. Please know we are praying for all of you.

A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school, but he didn't want his mother to walk with him. So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her. The neighbor said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed. The next school day the neighbor and her toddler set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another girl he knew. The neighbor and her toddler did this for the whole week. As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally she said to Timmy, "Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week? Do you know her?" Timmy nonchalantly replied "Yeah, I know who she is". The little girl said "Well, who is she?" "That's just Shirley Goodnest and her daughter Marcy". "Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us?" "Well", Timmy explained, "every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm it says 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life' so I guess I'll just have to get used to them".
May Shirley Goodnest and Marcy be with you, your children and your family; today and always.

My sympathy to the Reeves family & the Drew-Eckl-Farnham lawfirm family. Leigh stood as an example of what was good & honorable in our profession. She represented her clients zealously, & could be trusted by both her clients & adversaries. Leigh Reeves will be sorely missed in the close-knit workers' compensation legal community.

Dear Reeves Family,
I am saddend to hear of your loss, and you have my deepest sympathies. I remember Mrs. Reeves as a loving parent (I taught Lawson when he was 4 years old), and a wonderful person. She supported me as a teacher and connected with me personally through talks about many things but sports and music, in particular. She will be an example to me of how to be a caring person, and what a great parent is.

Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Leigh was such a wonderful, strong person that helped me through some tough times because, like Leigh, I too have been dealing with breast cancer. I was diagnosed after Leigh and I would visit her in her office here at Drew Eckl & Farnham and we would share stories and thank God how lucky we were. I had no idea what she has been going through recently, because when I would see her in the office, she would be smiling and saying everything was fine. I am truly going to miss her.
