Family-Placed Death Notice

FLACH, John M. Flach, John M. "Superpop" passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 1, 2011. Born March 26, 1929, he was a proud Marine. He attended Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris Kimball Flach and their children: John and Linnea Kosater Flach of Beavercreek, OH, Catherine Flach of Marietta, Joe and Cindy Kelly Flach of Gig Harbor, WA, Thomas Flach of Atlanta, Patsy Flach Galfas of Milton, and Jenny and Frank Wynne of Decatur. He was preceded in death by a son, James Flach. He was "Superpop" to twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and all those young at heart who knew him. There will be a Celebration of his Life at 2:00 on Friday, August 5, 2011 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 4905 Roswell Road, Marietta, GA 30062. His humor and great capacity to love will be missed by all who knew him, but his vibrant spirit will be with us forever. A special thanks to Julie, Nolan, and Deanna of Weinstein Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, take a friend to lunch. I will always remember John as a wonderful friend . I hope he and Stanley are happy in heaven . I dearly miss both of them

Dear Dottie,
Carl and I remember you and John so fondly from the wedding of our son and your grand-daughter, Torrie. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as we mourn the passing of John, or as we so affectionately called him, Superpop.

As your family grieves your loss I hope you'll see John in the words of this poem called: "Success."

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much;
Who has enjoyed the trust of women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children;
Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
Who has left the world better than he found it;
Who has never lacked appreciation of God's beauty or failed to express it;
Who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had.
His life was an inspiration;

Thank you for allowing me the honor and the blessing in getting to know Mr."Superpop" Flach. It truley was a gift to me. Meeting the wonderful, strong, kind, and down to earth family he raised,speaks volumes about how super he really was!Stay strong and continue to let him live through each of you. Perhaps your greatest gift is the wonderful family that you loved and adored unconditionally. You will be sadly missed John. You leave behind a most remarkable loving family of children, grandchildren and friends who loved you more than you probably knew. Your voice and laughter will echo through the mountains of Moody Hollow that you had come to enjoy so much over the years. Love and Light.

Superpop, as the name states you were an extraordinary man. You will be remembered as a man who had a great love for his family. A man with a sense of humor that would keep us laughing.
As we look upon the legacy you left behind we will be reminded of the man who built this "Super" family with love, compassion, integrity and pride.
You will be missed beyond words but your memory will remain alive in your children and their children.
