MEADER, Gary GARY WARRINGTON MEADER Gary Warrington Meader, 67, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, beloved husband of thirty-four years and dedicated father of three sons, passed away on April 17, 2014, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 15, 1946 to Herbert and Grace Meader. Gary graduated from the University of Missouri in 1968 with a degree in accounting. He was a member of Sigma Chi. He married the love of his life, Kathleen (Steed) Meader, on August 30, 1980. He transferred to Atlanta in 1971 with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co. Gary joined Cotton States Insurance Company in 1976 and retired as chief financial officer in 1999. After retiring, Gary served as the chief financial officer for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta until 2007. Gary is survived by: his wife, Kathi; his son Garret W. Meader, daughter-in-law Kathy, and their children Ashleigh, Eliza, and Katy, of St. Simons Island, Georgia; his son Bradley E. Meader, daughter-in-law Jessica, and their children Lucas and Cole, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; his son Scott M. Meader, and his daughter-in-law Lt. Latessa Meader, USAF, of Atlanta, Georgia; his sister Janet Rohner and brother-in-law Bob, of West Liberty Iowa; his niece Gwynne Dilbeck, of Columbus, Ohio; his nephew Jim Rohner, of Bettendorf, Iowa; Elizabeth Levai-Baird of West Liberty, Iowa; his brother-in-law, Dick Steed and sister-in-law, Malinda, his niece, Lauren Chory of Suffolk, VA, nephew, Bryan Steed of Atlanta, GA and niece Kelly Steed of Atlanta, GA; and his loyal companion, Red Dog. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd SW, Atlanta, Georgia, or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org. The family would like to express their gratitude for the support and prayers that have been offered by those who knew Gary. He will be dearly missed.
