Wilbur Reed Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
REED, Wilbur Wilbur B. Reed, son of Clarence C. Reed & Alta E. Reed died at the age of 89 at Freedom Pointe (Roswell, GA) on February 11, 2010. Born July 26, 1920 on a farm near Marysville Kansas, Wilbur attended city schools of Marysville & was a graduate of MHS in 1938. In 1942 he graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Kansas State University & married his wife of 52 years Marjorie Huff. Employed by Monsanto Chemical Co. & later by BASF Corp., Wilbur spent 42 years in various chemical engineering roles, varying from manufacturing to sales. He retired from BASF in 1984. Wilbur along with his wife Marjorie resided at several locations throughout his career but spent 24 years in Dunwoody, GA (a suburb of Atlanta) at the time of retirement. In 1996 he moved to a new residence at Whispering Pines, NC (a village near Southern Pines & Pinehurst) & in 2004 moved to Roswell, GA, in care of his daughter. Wilbur was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Huff in August 1994. He is survived by sister Maxine L. Allgood, Pekin, IL, son Charles D. Reed, Lake Forest, IL, daughter Sue Ellen Hagood, Roswell, GA & three Grandsons; Joseph N. Hagood, James F. Hagood, Jr. & Jason L. Hagood. Memorial Services will be held at Arlington Memorial Park on March 4th at 11:00AM. Sandy Springs Chapel Funeral Directors, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy., Sandy Springs, GA.

Dear Reed family, I did not know Mr Reed, but I wanted to acknowledge your grief and offer my deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to sustain you during this difficult time. In the days ahead I hope reflecting on the bible's comforting words at Isaiah 57:15 along with the love and support of family and friends will help ease the pain of your loss.
