There is a great sadness at Emory Law School since David's passing. He was so loved and respected by everyone, especially his students. His light will continue to blaze in the hearts and minds of many.

Jolayne and Sandy, I was heartbroken to hear that David had died. I am sorry I didn't get to know him as an adult because he sounds like a terrific person. I am so terribly sorry that his life, although extremely full, was so short. I will be thinking of your family during the coming days.

We'll miss David. He had quite the resume but we will remember him as a genuinely nice guy with a sense of humor.
No wonder the students loved him.

I remember David as a young boy when a student at Paideia and at a time when I worked with his father, Sandy, who was a geography professor at Georgia State University. Bill and I send our love and deepest sympathy to the family and especially to Sandy and Jolaynne.

I pray the family and friends of David find peace in the comforting scriptures of the Bible. One that always lifts me is Hebrews 13:5 where our Heavenly Father assures us that he will never leave nor by means forsake us. Especially during such difficult times as the death of a loved one. Take care
