I got this notification very late (like a few months). He was a great preacher. I know members of his family who attended schools where I taught...and became teachers. I missed the announcement because I was on a school trip with a high school orchestra to Austria. I pray for his wonderful family and his church.

Just heard of his death on yesterday. Rev. Grant was a pillar in the Clayton County community. I had the privilege of working as an Intern for him at the Clayton Co. EOA. He will be truly missed.

Oh how well do I remember Rev. Grant!!! Pleasant memories of my childhood at Mt. Welcome!!! My prayers to Mother Grant and the rest of the family. But what a great assurance to know that when our earthly physical vessel will decay, God has prepared us another body that will not fail us. To be absent from this body is a blessed assurance that we will be present with the Lord.

The passing of a loved one is hard and we weep of the loss, but not so much when they leave a legacy of good deeds that live on. Mr. Grant made a way to serve the least of us through grace, mercy and love for the community. Knowing ones legacy make our loss more tolerable. For we know GOD said well done and called him home. Those of us who knew Reverend Charles Grant well are blessed. He was a concerned christian man. I met him and his wonderful family when he faithfully served as my home church pastor at the Wolf Creek County Line Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Georgia. I also had the distinct pleasure of serving with him as a colleague when he served as director of the Clayton County Community Action Agency. He demonstrated genuine commitment to the under served. Mrs. Grant, you have been a loyal, supportive christian lady who is greatly adored and loved.I thank God for giving you the spirit of sharing Reverend Grant with us. I was fortunate to have him encourage me to continue my leadership training that I began in Pensacola FL (Leadership Pensacola)before my transfer. Because of his encouragement I received my Leadership Clayton certificate in 1996. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Rev Grant was a man of God who was loved dearly by the community & his church family who will be missed but definitely not forgotten. The one thing I will miss are the gentle slaps on the face followed by the kiss on cheek. I remember when he found out that I was deploying he told me I know we don't have to worry about anything happening to you because I know that you are going over their in one piece & coming back the same person just a little more wiser and to this day those words have stuck with me. Today I know he is in heaven preaching one of his best sermons followed by opening the doors of the church with one of those hymns or songs to stir the congregation up. Rest In Paradise our good & faithful servant.

I know for certain that we never really lose the people we love, even to death. When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may never understand why Rev. Grant left this earth so soon, or why he left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to understand not just that he died, but that he lived. And through his life he has left us with some memories too beautiful to forget. Let us hold on to those memories, and let them guide us during this time of sadness. For what we have once enjoyed, will forever be with us, and all that we love deeply becomes part of us. In closing, let me say that may his love be the light that guides us each and every day. I love you, I miss you, and I will NEVER forget this beautiful person called Rev. Charles W. Grant!
