Francis Dorman Obituary
DORMAN, Francis FRANCIS ALLEN DORMAN, 91 Woodstock resident Francis Allen Dorman, a Marine fighter pilot who served during World War II and in Korea, died peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2014, after a brief illness. He was 91. He was born in Omega, GA, and lived most of his life in Dunwoody, GA. Following his military service, Mr. Dorman started Allen Dorman, Inc. Over the next 40 years his firm would become a prominent builder of upscale homes in many of metro Atlanta's finest residential subdivisions. And while he loved his homebuilding business, his true love was his family. He was a kind, gentle and private man who set a quiet example of what a good husband, father and friend should be. Mr. Dorman leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Alice Eloise Dorman, three sons, Francis Allen Dorman, Jr., Marc Allen Dorman and Harold L. Pearman, Jr., two daughters, Palmer Dorman Crim and Michele Dorman Pallotta, two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Marie Dorman and Dana Palmer Dorman, one nephew, Alan Greer and two nieces, Jeannie Greer and Ann Marie Greer Norman. The family plans to inter his remains in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. No memorial service is planned at this time.
