WENDEL, Gerald Gerald Raymond Wendel, age 79, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died July 31, 2014. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1935 to the late Robert Wendel and Catherine Rowe Wendel. He was the youngest of seven brothers, and was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years and the mother of his five daughters, Anne Wendel Sampson. Jerry proudly served in the military during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1962. He graduated from the University of Washington in Missouri, and received his Masters degree in Finance from Georgia State University. During his remarkable lifetime, he was greatly admired and respected for his life experiences as a leader and problem solver in the business, finance, and real estate communities. He was regarded by all as someone to trust and rely greatly upon in matters concerning these areas of business. He was active in passing this knowledge on to others through his consulting. Later he became the North Florida regional owner for Keller Williams Realty. He demonstrated throughout his lifetime a genius with people and business, using his sharp wit and keen intellect. With this same passion and energy, he was always very active in the lives of those who now survive him. Survivors include one brother, Robert Wendel and wife Alice, and a sister-in-law, Nadine Wendel. Daughters: Maureen Wendel and husband Robert Titus, Laura Lyons, Phyllis Currie, Eileen Tibbs, and Celeste Wendel Grandchildren: Douglas Lindsey, Daniel Lindsey and wife Celeste, Brandi Lindsey, Joshua Gurley and wife Briana, Lillianne Gurley, Josh Lyons, Danielle Mikula, Lydia Clackum and husband Franklin, Jacqueline Tibbs, and Erica Tibbs Great grandchildren: Kinsley Lindsey, Ryder Lindsey, Lexi Lindsey, and Tesa Lindsey. A Memorial Service will be held at The Church at Covington, with David Payne officiating on Saturday, August 9 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Suncoast Hospice in St. Petersburg, Florida.
