Victor Alphonse Lambert, Jr., 76, born October 12, 1939 in Atlanta, GA, died February 19, 2016 at DeKalb Medical after a brief illness. A native Atlantan, Vic graduated from Marist School in 1957, served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves from 1957 to 1963, then attended Oglethorpe University. Vic spent over 30 years in broadcast news including many years with NBC News, WAGA-TV and WCKT-TV. He also worked for nearly 20 years as Technical Director at Norcostco theatrical supply company in Atlanta. An active member of Atlanta's theater community, Vic worked on over 300 productions as a writer, director, producer, designer or actor. Among his favorite roles: The Captain in The Brownsville Raid, Mitch in A Streetcar Named Desire, and Joe Keller in All My Sons. He also played Santa Claus for Atlanta Lyric Theater. Vic created Mother Mayhem's Mob, a participatory theater company, which hosted countless events. He was also part of the cast for the long-running Atlanta interactive show Frankie and Angie Get Married. Vic was especially proud to be a voting Judge for the SUZI Theatre Awards, and participated annually in the Tri-Union (SAG-AFTRA-EQUITY) fundraiser "Lend Me an Ear." Vic was a member of several fraternal organizations including the Elks, Eagles, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Past President of Georgia Theatre Conference, Mensa in Atlanta, Native Atlantans Club and the Atlanta Broadcast Newsmen Association, he was also an active member of the Democratic Party in DeKalb County. Vic had recently been selected as a delegate to the upcoming Democratic National Convention. Per his wishes, his body was donated to Emory Medical School. A memorial celebration will be held at BPOE Elks Lodge 78, 1775 Montreal Rd., Tucker GA, 30084 on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 5 pm. Everyone is welcome. Vic is survived by two loving daughters, Anne Lambert of Charlotte, NC and Susan Lambert of Pasadena, CA, and his step-grandsons Owen Gerber-Hatem and Spenser Gerber-Hatem and grandson Dashiell Lambert Hatem, of Pasadena. In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends please consider a donation to support causes important to Vic including: scholarship funds at Elks Atlanta/Northlake and Mensa of Georgia, the SUZI Awards and SAG/AFTRA in Atlanta, the Democratic Party, or to the .
