Tyler Hattrup, age 23 from Auburn, Calif., passed away on Saturday evening November 29, 2014. He will be missed by so many friends and family.
Tyler was the first son of Nicole Stiers and Jim Hattrup. He was born February 4, 1991 and raised in Auburn. Tyler was the big brother and best friend to Josh Hattrup.
From the age of six Tyler raced quarter midgets, winning the Western Grand Nationals three times. He had a love of fast cars and motorcycles. Tyler's favorite retreat was traveling to sand dunes to ride his quad with brother Josh, Dad Jim and many close friends. Tyler had an infectious smile and loved to laugh. He was blessed with many friends whom he loved dearly. Touching the lives of so many, Tyler was never afraid to express himself freely giving hugs and always helping not just his loved ones, but anyone in need. Always the first to shake a hand or offer assistance, Tyler's love of people defined him.
Tyler is survived by his mother Nicole, his father Jim and his brother Josh, all of Auburn, Calif.
A celebration of Tyler's life will be held at Canyon View Community Center at 471 Maidu Drive, Auburn Calif. Sierra Room on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Luncheon will follow the ceremony.

Jim and Family, I am so saddened to here of this tragedy. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you travel through this time of lose and grieving. I hope that you find peace with this someday as losing a child must be the most emotionally painful thing a parent can experience. Tyler was an honest, hard working, talented, smart, funny, etc... The list just goes on.. He must have been raised right to become such a fine young man.. It breaks my heart to hear we've lost another good soul made with a pure genuine heart, in our generation. I didn't get the chance to know his family, and just barely knew Tyler. But even if you've only met him once, he left an impression on your heart. God must of needed one of his angels back, maybe to watch over one of us, or maybe he recruited Tyler for a big heavenly angel dirt bike race!!? Idk, I'm just trying to make light of such a sad sad tragedy, like he would when walking into a room.... lighting it up with just one smile, not even a word.
You will be missed Tyler Hattrup!! We love you!
(P.S. - I think still have your riding helmet you let me borrow from days ago!! I'm gonna try and find it in my storage and return it to your family on Sat.)

Jim, I can't imagine how difficult this is for you. I watched Tyler grow up and I remember every year when you came into the office, you would update me on how he did in racing. I have boys too. Keep the strength!
