Victor "Pete" Peterson, 88, of Lincoln, California, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 20, 2018.
Victor was born in La Junta, Colorado August 13, 1930 to Victor O. and Ruth Peterson. He graduated from Kim High School, Kim, Colorado and then married Joan Pearce in 1951. Victor and Joan were married for 57 years.
Victor served his country for 4 years by joining the U. S. Air Force in 1952. Upon his discharge, he continued to serve in the U. S. Air Force Reserve.
Victor continued his education and received his Bachelors Degree from Adams State College and soon after received his teaching credentials. He taught Special Education classes for the Western Placer Unified School District for over 30 years. Victor enjoyed teaching and loved his students and his students loved him.
After Victor retired he enjoyed spending time with his grandaughters. Any time spent with "Papa" as his 6 grandaughters called him, was very special time.
Loved ones that have cleared the path for Victor are his father, Victor O. Peterson, his mother, Ruth Peterson, his sister, Faye Schafer, and his brother-in-law, Dave Schafer.
Loved ones that will miss Victor, until they meet again are his son, John Peterson, his daughter-in-law, Shannon Peterson, his daughter, Jill Peterson-Bennetts, his former son-in-law, Rich Bennetts, his grandaughters, Ashlynn Bakken, Kelsey Kelly, Carley Bennetts, Madison Bennetts, Maya Peterson, and Mackenzie Bennetts, his niece, Randi Ristow and Family, and his former wife, Joan Hill.
Victor "Pete" Peterson was an amazing and unique individual that was loved, will be missed and will always be remembered.
Papa, you are in our hearts forever and Dad, we love and miss you.
