Many years ago I bought William Boggs book "Sin Boldly." I loved his stories and the depth from which he related his life experiences. I have shared his stories as illustrations in sermons on numerous occasions. I want his family to know how much he touched my life even though we never met in person.

I am saddened by the loss of Bill. I remember that Bill, my cousin Alan Alexander and I used to play together as little boys in New Ellenton, S.C. He was always a fun person to be with and we thought the world of him.

I will be praying for all of you during this time of loss and grief.

When I was a boy watching my brother go away to the Marines I looked at him like he was fearless and he was. In later years I learned what a dynamic leader and scholar he had become. He could always find humor in any situation. He looked at everything in ways that others could not see. He was a dynamic personality in our family and will be missed. Our memories together will be cherished always.

I don't know if this is the same Bill Boggs that I knew at D.F. McClatchey School here in Atlanta back in the 1950's, but if so, I have fond memories of his being one of the good guys and of his being one of my playmates and the son of a friend of my mother's. I am sorry for your loss and am glad to see that he led such an exemplary life after we lost touch.
