Retired Heavy Equipment Operator AIKEN, S.C. - Entered into rest on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, Mr. Jerry Roland Chitty Sr., husband of the late Mrs. Virginia Hamilton Chitty, of Old Double Spring Road, Aiken, S.C. Surviving is a daughter, Genice Harmon of Vaucluse, S.C.; two sons, Jerry R. Chitty Jr. and Robert Chitty, both of Jackson, S.C.; one brother, Gus Chitty, of Plant City, Fla.; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mr. Chitty was born in Plant City, Fla. to the late James and Allie Rogers Chitty. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and had served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Graveside services will be Saturday at 4 p.m. in Graniteville Cemetery with Rev. Mark Erbland officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry Rosier, George Rosier, James Rosier, Andy Bovee, Jimmy Chalker and Kevin Slade. Friends may call at the residence and on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home, U.S. Hwy No1, Langley, S.C. Sign the guestbo ok at AugustaChronicle.com
