NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. Joseph E. Lumpkin, Jr., 76, who entered into rest April 14, 2014, will be conducted Friday morning at 10 o'clock in the Pineview Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Masonic Rites will be accorded. Mr. Lumpkin was a native of Philadelphia, PA, a former resident of Ocala, Florida, having made North Augusta his home for the past 44 years. He retired as a Surveyor from Bechtel at the Savannah River Site with over 25 years of service. Mr. Lumpkin was a member and Past Master of the Acacia Masonic Lodge #315 A.F.M., the Scottish Rite, Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post #71, Mended Hearts and served as a Bailiff for North Augusta Public Safety. He enjoyed working on projects, traveling and loved his family. Mr. Lumpkin was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Sr. and Mildred Lumpkin. Survivors include his wife Doris Greiner Lumpkin; two daughters and a son-in-law, Chanda and Michael Jones, North Augusta, SC and Tammy King, Phoenix, AZ; three sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Kathy Lumpkin, Yipslanti, MI, Tommy King, Phoenix, AZ and Thomas Lumpkin, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three sisters, Patti Lumpkin, Anthony, FL, Joan B. Greene, Ocala, FL and Barbara Smith, Anthony, FL; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jim and Donis Lumpkin and Michael Lumpkin, both of Ocala, FL; 8 grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Acacia Masonic Lodge #315 A.F.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5 until 7.
