Lester Germany Obituary

EVANS, Ga. - Mr. Lester G. Germany age 60, husband of Donna Germany, entered into rest on Thursday March 16, 2006 at University Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Monday March 20, 2006 at Platt's Belair Rd. Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg Porterfield, Rev. Mac Enfinger, and Rev. Pat Williams officiating. The family will be having services in Athens, TX. at the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel on Friday March 24, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Holly Springs Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Christian Germany of Frisco, TX., Joshua Germany and his wife, Anne-Marie of Augusta; one daughter, Bonner Germany of Evans; three brothers, Raymond Germany of Haughton, LA., Marlin Germany of Athens, TX. and Charles Germany of Rayville, LA. and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mr. Germany was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2003, with a Master of Earth and Environmental Remediation Management. He worked as an environmental scientist for 34 years, he had been employed with SRS-Department of Energy since 1994. He was a loving husband and father. The family will receive friends on Sunday March 19, 2006 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 2623 Washington Rd. Augusta, GA. 30904 or to the American Parkinson Disease Association at P.O. Box 49416 Atlanta, GA. 30359. Platt's Funeral Home, 337 N. Belair Rd., Augusta, GA 30809

Aunt Donna, Bonner, Josh and Chris, we just want you all to know how much we loved Uncle Lester. We also want you to know we are thinking of all of you and you are all in our prayers. We wish we could be with you in Georgia but will see you at the other service in Athens. Uncle Lester was a true gentleman and a kind soul. He had the sweetest smile and a very warm heart, especially for all his family. He will truly be missed.
