Carolyne Jean (Medernach) Cherwin Obituary
Carolyne Jean Cherwin (Medernach), 83, passed away Thursday September 13, 2018, at The Grove of Fox Valley in Aurora. Carolyne was born in Aurora on December 18, 1934, to John and Loretta Medernach. Carolyne was a devoted wife and mother who selflessly put the needs of others before her own, and was an active member of Holy Angels Parish in Aurora. She took great pride in cheering her sons on during all of their athletic events, but was even more vocal while watching her grandchildren play theirs. Without question, Carolyne's favorite professional team was the Chicago White Sox, and she made a point of making sure everyone knew it. Survivors include her sons, Craig and Jay (Kathy) Cherwin; and five grandchildren, Nick, Michael, Emily, Joey and Nikki; four brothers Dave (Donna), Gerald "Sam" (Hermine), Bernie (Marcia), Gregg (Gloria); two sisters Marie Frantzen, Mary (Jerry) Yager; three sisters-in-law Kay Medernach, Janet Medernach, and Joyce Lutz; and many nieces and nephews. Carolyne was preceded in death by her parents John and Loretta (Hannan) Medernach, husband Don Cherwin; brothers Jim, John, Al, Frank and Fritz; brothers in law Bill Frantzen, Joe Lutz; nephew Dennis Medernach; and niece Stacy Frantzen. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 11:30 AM from The Daleiden Mortuary to Holy Angels Church for the Funeral Mass, at 12:00 PM located at 180 S. Russell Ave., Aurora, IL 60506 led by Fr. Charles Reichenbacher. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, IL 60506 from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM. Interment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Aurora. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the in Carolyne's name.
