Marlene Barnes Obituary

Barnes, Marlene Helen Age 80, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at her residence in Batavia. She was born August 27, 1934 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Edward and Nellie (nee Freed) Millett. She was united in marriage to Dr. Robert Forrest Barnes on June 23, 1956 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert; her children, Scott (Julie) Barnes of Ephraim, WI, Steven (Kathryn) Barnes of Bozeman, MT, and Susan (David) Tyioran of North Aurora; nine grandchildren; her sisters, Margot Murphy and Linda Berg; and a sister-in-law, Lynn Rudberg. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Millett. A memorial service will be announced in a full obituary at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln Street, Batavia, IL 60510 or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1 North LaSalle Street, Ste. 1200, Chicago, IL 60602.
