Wetli, Peter Andre
of Peoria was passionate about many things including family, friends, animals, and travel. He pursued those interests his entire life, passing away on May 19, 2013 while visiting close friends in Southern California. Peter is survived by Irene, his devoted wife of 55 years; loving children Jean-Pierre (Sara) of Fayetteville, GA; Michel (Kathleen) of Decatur, GA; and Monique of Peoria, AZ; treasured grandchildren Sean of Pooler, GA and Renee of Athens, GA; and many dear in-laws, nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Iris Wetli; his sister Rosalie Judge, and brother Shamus (Jim) Wetli, all of Ontario, Canada. Peter was born on May 20, 1937 in Kingston, Jamaica. In early childhood his family moved to Toronto where Peter graduated from St. Michael's College School. After high school Peter went to Lausanne, Switzerland where he met Irene while they both attended Ecole hôtelière, a hospitality management school. As a Swiss National, Peter also served in the Swiss Army. A trained chef and member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, Peter spent most of his career in the airline inflight catering industry. He served as the International Flight Services Association (IFSA) president from 1985 to 1987 and was a 2006 IFSA/ITCA Presidents' Roll of Honor Inductee. The line between his personal and professional life blurred for Peter, as he loved his profession and co-workers with all his heart. Time outside of the office and kitchen for Peter was spent as an outdoorsman, hockey fan (Toronto Maple Leafs), and photographer, just to name a few of his varied interests. A funeral mass for Peter will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W Palmeras Dr., Sun City, AZ 85373 on Saturday, May 25th at 12:00 noon. Flowers and contributions in Peter's honor to humansociety.org are both welcome.

Pete, I let very few people in my life call me "Maxie", but you were at the top of that list. We had some great laughs at the conferences in Houston. You'll be missed.
