Christopher Lewis Ashe

Ashe, Christopher Lewis
Age 23, unexpectedly passed from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. With great sadness and fond memories, his family and friends invite you to gather with them to commemorate Chris's life. The service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 15 E. First Avenue, Mesa, Arizona at 3 pm Friday, November 8, 2013. This is the same church where his mother Susan's services were held. He will be buried with both his parents at Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa, Arizona 85201. Sue and Tom both passed away from breast cancer. Sue died in October 2003 and Tom died in March, 2013. There will be an opportunity for those who wish to share memories to do so during the church service. Christopher was born on December 13, 1989 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the first member of both sides of his family to be born in Arizona. His Aunt Cathi was honored to be at his parents side when he was born. He had the face of an angel and was the love and light of his parents life. His Aunts Norma Weiss and Cindy Bacso were also honored to be chosen as his godmothers. Chris had a passion for hockey and played for a number of hockey teams. He will be buried in one of his hockey jerseys and a favorite hockey stick will also accompany him. He also participated in baseball and boy scouts while growing up and Tom was both his baseball coach and boy scout leader. Chris graduated from Apache Junction High School and studied at Mesa Community College and Rio Salado College. He most recently worked as a bartender/server at the Landmark Restaurant in Mesa. A recent poignant post from a friend on facebook gives insight to the compassionate person Christopher was: "You will be greatly missed man. You were a real friend and can't even thank you enough for everything you had done for me. When I was broken and had nothing except for the clothes on my back you took me in man. You gave me a place to live, you gave me a chance at life. You put a roof over my head. You helped me get my life back together. I love you brother, I hope you shine bright up there with your mother and father." Christopher was preceded in death by his parents Susan and Tom Ashe, his grandparents Lowell and Patricia Condon and Ruth and Lewis Ashe. He was also preceded in death by his Aunt Norma Weiss, Uncle Jon Condon and Cousin Michael Martinez. Christopher is survived by his stepmother Dee Ashe and stepsisters Renee Hanson (Shawn) and Whitney Wycoff.
