David Humphrey

Humphrey, David Clay
passed away at the age of 68, on January 1, 2014. Dave was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and terrific friend. Dave is survived by his wife/best friend Faye of 20 years, son Matthew G. Veronda (wife Allison Wathen), son John Humphrey (wife Wendy), daughter Kristin Kimberly and daughter Traci Michelle, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Dave was the younger of two sons born to James Humphrey and Charlotte Jean Miller Humphrey in Los Angeles, CA, on March 16, 1945. Dave was raised in Los Angeles when he attended Loyola High School and University of Southern California. Dave served in the U.S. Air Force, where he flew F-4 fighters in Viet Nam. Upon return from the Air Force, Dave entered the title insurance/escrow business, where he held various positions in escrow, claims administration and management. Dave served that industry as the President of the CA Escrow Assn, the Central AZ Escrow Assn and was the co-founder of the Arizona Escrow Association. After retiring from the title industry, Dave joined Faye in the real estate industry, where he was a REALTOR/Partner with Keller Williams Realty Biltmore Partners, as well as owner/operator of Handyman Services, at the time of his death. Dave was a member of Paradise Valley Elks Lodge, National Association of REALTORS, Arizona Assn of REALTORS and the Phoenix Assn of REALTORS. For much of Dave and Faye's life together, Dave was a member of Scottsdale No. 43 Masonic Lodge, a Charter member of Hunter's Paradise Masonic Lodge, and very active member of El Zaribah Shrine, where he served as President of the Motorcycle Unit, Captain of the Patrol and President of the Directors Staff, and as well as Potentate in 2006. He was a long time member of the Teocalli No. 16, Order of the Quetzalcoatl . All whose lives were touched by Dave will forever be the better for the relationship. He was a loyal, true friend and mentor to many. A Memorial and celebration of Dave's life will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 3pm at El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium, 522 North 40th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Flowers are appropriate or contributions may be made in Dave's name to El Zaribah Shrine, General Fund. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
