Jessen, George Earl
94, died January 19, 2013 was born January 31, 1918 in St. Paul, Minnesota and moved to Phoenix with his family in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in North Africa. He retired as a baliff of Maricopa County Superior Court. He was a life member - DAV Phoenix 1 Chapter; Founding sponsor - DAV Life Memorial Foundation; Life Member - BPOE, Phoenix, Arizona Lodge No. 335. George is survived by his wife Ceil; Son Michael (Mary Dean); daughter Joni Wetzel (Fransis) of Chandler; sister Carol Groppoli and sister-in-law Teresa Jessen of St. Paul, Minn.; sister-in-law Beth Jessen of Tempe ; granddaughter Julie Lester; grandson Jerry Chris Burch, five great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 2nd at Veterans Medical Center Chapel, 7th Street and Indian School Road, Phoenix. Burial with military honors at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8th at National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road.
