beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, died peacefully on the evening of July 28, 2013 at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center In Salt Lake City Utah. His passing is mourned and his loss felt deeply by his family; his brothers and sisters Muriel, Philip , Robert, Barbara, Monica, Patricia. Mary, Diana, Elizabeth and Raymond; their spouses, his many nieces and nephews, and his friends and neighbors in Showlow. Arizona; where he has resided since 2005. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Eleanor Murphy, his sister Deborah and his brothers James and Stephen. He will be buried with full military honors, with a memorial service to be held at a future date. Kevin was born November 18, 1956 in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Robert E. Simpson Elementary School and West Phoenix High School, after which he served in the United States Navy. He was by profession a printer, and worked in that capacity for many years until his early retirement in 2000. Kevin was a thoughtful, contemplative and quiet man by nature, and found joy in simple pleasures; friendship, reading, music, and the beautiful lakes and mountains of northeastern Arizona. In the final days of his life, Kevin received exemplary and compassionate care from the doctors, nurses and staff of the VA hospitals of Phoenix, Arizona and Salt Lake City, Utah. To honor the work it does on behalf of all Veterans and their families, donations may be made in Kevin's name to The Salt Lake City Fisher House.
