Rosemary Ann Koessler

Koessler, Rosemary Ann
78 of Cave Creek, AZ left a life that in the last year had pain and suffering to be with God. She was born in Evanston, IL on October 9, 1935 to Pauline and Charles Abernathy. She had many interests but her favorite was dancing, especially the tango. Dancing was how she and her friend Shirley met their future husbands on the Boardwalk at a Chicago Hotel. She married Richard at age 19 and he was 25. Her next interests were boating, hiking and camping. She used to laugh about how her two cats Winston and Barney had been to more national parks than most people. She started in business by running the gift shop at a Carefree resort. She then worked at selling cosmetics at department stores and winning almost every award possible. She and Richard ran a volunteer program at the Arizona State Veterans home called "Cassettes for Vets". Her all time favorite job was as assistant to Richard in custom home building in the Chicago suburbs. She did the interior decorating, accounting and showing of the homes. She is survived by her husband, 3 boys, John, Tom and James and grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be at the Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Drive at 10:00 am Thursday. Refreshments will be served afterwards. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Foothills Animal Rescue, 23030 North Pima Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85255.
