Stephen Johnsen Acheson

Acheson, Stephen Johnsen
born October 10, 1940 in Los Angeles, California, passed away on January 14, 2014 in Phoenix. Stephen moved to the valley in 1950 and attended Kenilworth Elementary School and West High School. He then served 4 years in the Marine Corps. While attending Arizona State University he met the love of his life, Fritzie, and remained married for 48 years to his soul mate. He was preceded in death by his wife Fritzie, his parents and his brother Alfred. He is survived by his daughter, Michele Gibbs (Bill), his son Eddy Acheson, his twin sister Susan Running, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Steve was a teacher at Campo Bello Elementary School in the Paradise Valley School District for 25 years and truly treasured all the students he came in contact with. He and his wife spent the last years traveling extensively and especially enjoyed doing so with their children. Steve was an avid fly fisherman and loved catching salmon in Alaska. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Moon Valley Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arizona Humane Society at
