Bernice C. Green

Bernice C Green (Bernie), 91, was born June 8, 1915 in Ekalaka, Montana, passed away April 17, 2007. Bernice grew up on cattle and horse ranch in Montana where life was hard and formal education came second to feeding the family that included 2 Jbrothers and 4 sisters. However, she would tell you that her home was Arizona. When she became a young woman, she left the ranch to study at a beauty school. Soon after becoming a licensed beautician, Bernice and her sister, Audrey moved to Minneapolis, MN for a short time and then moved to Phoenix in 1945. Shortly after her arrival in Phoenix, she met her husband Melvin and the two started their family having three boys Melvin Jr., John and Gary. Bernice eventually attained her GED and real estate license. She and Melvin sold, developed and leased real estate for over forty years passing their legacy and family business to their sons who continue to thrive in the real estate business today. Her life and devotion to her family was paramount. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. She is predeceased by her husband Melvin A. Green, father August Preuss, mother Francis (Pausek), brothers Vernon and Carl, sister Audrey and her son Gary who recently lost his battle with cancer. She is survived by her two sons Melvin and John; her sister in law Gloria Preuss; grandchildren, Ben, Gavin, Brandi, Jason, Josh and April. Bernice was also blessed with 7 great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend a Visitation Wednesday, April 25th 12:00 p.m. at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ. A graveside service will be held immediately afterward at 2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W Van Buren St, Phoenix, AZ.
