On October 15, 1954, Afiafiotoaga Pa'ulaau Carter was born to Pa'ulaau Ioane and Poulima Velega Ioane. She was raised in American Samoa converted at an early age at LMS church in Utulei under the leadership of Faifeau Maluolefale Ulutu.

Afi closed her life book at 4:36 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018. She leaves to mourn her departure: a beloved and devoted husband, Esper Carter; one child, Julius Carter; two brothers: Papaoli'i Velega and Kirisimasi (Michelle) Ioane; four sisters: Sinaita'aga Ioane (Tauinaola) AhSoon, Fa'afouina Ioane (Joseph) Strack, Fofoaivaoese Ioane, and Tiaoali'i Ioane (David) Lutu; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. Location: Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 East Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ 85206.
