McCulley, Douglas Bowman
age 72, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away 13 May 2013. Born 26 September 1940 in Houston, Texas, Doug was a proud graduate of Lamar High School (1958), and graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin (1962). He began his career as a CPA with Arthur Young and practiced in California Texas, Oregon, and Arizona. After retiring as partner from Ernst & Young in 1991, Doug continued as a solo practitioner until his death. Doug was a respected member of the AICPA, Valley of the Sun Kiwanis and the Central Arizona Estate Planning Council. Doug hiked all over Arizona, loved geocaching, and was an avid philatelist. Doug's philanthropy extended to a wide range of organizations including the AFL-CIO, the American Cancer Society, Christian Family Care, the Humane Society of the United States, McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, the National Parks Foundation, the Phoenix Zoo, the Sierra Club, and the Valley of the Sun Kiwanis. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Dee, daughter Jennifer, son Ryan, daughter-in-law Andrea, grandchildren Ellen and Ian, sister Shirlee and brother-in-law Paul. A memorial service will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday, 21 May 2013 at Messinger Indian School Mortuary in Scottsdale.
