Ellis "Bob" Nasib Francies

Phoenix - Ellis Nasib Francies, age 87, passed away in Phoenix, Arizona on Monday, December 21, 2020. Ellis and his twin sister, Alice "Teeter" were born in Phoenix on November 5, 1933. He and his twin sister were the last in a long line of Francies siblings born in the state of Arizona, to his parents, Sidney Francies and Nettie (Romley) Francies.

Ellis was raised in Phoenix and remained in the state of Arizona his entire life. Ellis attended elementary school in downtown Phoenix, and was a 1952 graduate of Phoenix Union High School where he was well known for his football prowess. Not a large man, Ellis was known for his speed and his ability to bring even the largest linebacker crashing down on the field. Following High School he attended college at Palo Verde College in Blythe, California. After college he followed into his father's business, the Francies Date Company, founded in Phoenix by his father, where he worked until his retirement in 1995.

Ellis learned to love golf in his early twenties when he was introduced to the game. He spent many hours on local golf courses in Phoenix. Following his relocation to the North Phoenix area in 1979 Ellis continued his passion for golf by becoming one of the first members of the Arrowhead Country Club. He enjoyed many a day on the course there as well.

He met and married the love of his life, Judith Rae Melvin on February 9, 1957 and together they shared. 63 years of joy and adventure. They spent many years traveling throughout the world, a life goal for both he and Judy.

Ellis is survived by his wife, Judith Rae. His daughters, Karen Francies, Jennifer Francies, and his son, Scott Ellis Francies. His grandchildren; Blake Mitchell, Chase Porteous, Amanda Porteous, Jordan Francies, and Andrew Francies, and three great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his twin sister, Alice "Teeter" Francies and his brothers; Norman, Dennis, Sidney, and Phillip.

Ellis is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A celebration of his life will be planned for a future date.
