Scottsdale - Pheatt, Esther Claire

95, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on June 16, 2018. Esther, "Essie" was born in Chicago, IL.

Preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Robert, (Bob) J. Pheatt, Essie will be remembered by all as a very loving and compassionate mother to Pam, (Jim) Hall, Jeff, (Ginny) Pheatt, Connie, (Wayne) Botkin, and Andrea, (Mark) Rietz. She was an adoring grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Essie, the youngest daughter of five, parents, Carl and Della Eklin, met Bob at the Western Electric Company in the early 40's. They lived for many years in Oak Lawn, IL, where they started their family. Every summer, Essie and Bob would always take their kids on vacations all over the U.S. before joining the Braidwood Recreation Club continuing their camping ways. Ultimately, they were transferred to Phoenix in 1969. Essie loved life, her family and her many friends. She loved her life spent with Bob in Walker, AZ building their cabin, sewing, painting ceramics, and hiking. We are grateful to have had her in our lives for so long.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti, 6261 N. Granite Reef Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85250 followed by a celebration of life at Aunt Chiladas Squaw Peak, 7330 N. Dreamy Draw Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85020

Essie's final resting place will be with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024
