Obituary Condolences

Follmer, Frank Fredrick Jr.
Frank, age 72, passed away peacefully at the Sherman Hospice Home in Scottsdale, Arizona on October 24, 2012. Frank endured the rigors of chemo therapy and radiation treatments for over a year, battling stomach cancer that was discovered only four days from the passing of his beloved wife, Wanda, on September 15, 2011. Frank was born to Frank and Elvira Follmer in St. Louis, MO on August 19, 1940. He received his civil engineering degree from Rolla School of Mines, University of Missouri. Frank met his wife Wanda in St. Louis and relocated the family to Scottsdale, AZ in 1978 where he joined Perini Construction Company. While serving as a civil engineer in commercial construction as project manager, Frank was proud to be involved in the terminal 4 addition at the Phoenix International Airport and the Chase Field Baseball Stadium. Frank worked as a consultant with the Dial Corporation in the construction of the Dial Tower in downtown Phoenix and then joined the Caviness Construction Company until his retirement in 2009. Frank loved a challenge and as his son, Norm, commented, "There was nothing my Dad couldn't do". Frank loved his cousins and friends in St. Louis, MO and always enjoyed the chance to return for an event. Frank is survived by his loving brothers Fred, and his wife Sharon, of Atlanta, GA and David of Tucson, AZ; Frank's three children, Norm Sapp and his wife Carolyn, of Phoenix, AZ, Sharie Kiene of Savannah, GA and Nicholas Follmer of Las Vegas, NV; and his four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Frank and Wanda truely enjoyed their neighbors and friends who they felt were family. In this spirit, a Life Celebration gathering will be at Frank and Wanda's home at 6902 E. Presidio, Scottsdale, AZ on Saturday, November 10th from 4 to 7pm. Contributions in Frank's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis , TN 38101.
